Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn is among Minnesota leaders pushing back against the Trump administration’s sudden freeze of federal child care funding, which could cut off assistance for more than 20,000 children statewide. Providers warn many centers may close without the money, while state officials question the legality of the move and say inspections of allegedly fraudulent centers are still underway.
