Carleton Track and Field Team
Three Eden Prairie residents will be on the Carleton College men's indoor track and field team in 2013, according to a news release from the school.
They are:

- Robert Davis, who is a graduate of Eden Prairie High School and is a senior at Carleton.
- Marcus Huderle, who is a graduate of Eden Prairie High School and is a junior at Carleton.
- Evan Olawsky, who is a graduate of Eden Prairie High School and is a first-year at Carleton.
Halvorson Earns Colgate Dean's Award
Kirsten Halvorson of Eden Prairie received the Dean's Award for academic excellence in fall semester 2012 at Colgate University, according to a news release from the school. "To be eligible for the Dean's Award, a Colgate student must achieve higher than a 3.30 average while enrolled in at least four courses," according to a news release from the school. Halvorson graduated from Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis.
Halvorson is expected to graduate in 2015.

Luther College Fall Dean's List
Three Eden Prairie residents were named to the 2012 fall semester Dean's List at Luther College.
- Matt Beniak, senior, is the son of David Beniak and Janet Schmidt.
- McKenna Campbell-Potter, freshman, is the daughter of Kenneth Potter and Debra Potter-Campbell.
- Alison Vuolo, sophomore, is the daughter of Steve and Suzanne Vuolo.
- Blake Wragge, sophomore, is the son of Bradley and Kari Wragge.
Pullis Honored at Trinity College
Jacob Pullis of Eden Prairie received Faculty Honors for fall semester 2012 at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. He is expected to graduate in 2014. "To earn Faculty Honors, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of at least a 3.667 with no individual letter grade below B-minus," according to a news release from the school.
Nguyen and Lanasa Admitted to Concordia
The following Eden Prairie residents have been admitted to Concordia University, St. Paul, according to a news release from the school:
Jordan Lanasa will receive the Presidents scholarship in fall 2013.
Veronica Nguyen will receive the Presidents scholarship in fall 2013.
Dolezal and Ferrara Graduate from U of M, Crookston
Two Eden Prairie residents graduated from the University of Minnesota, Crookston, Dean's List in fall semester 2012.
They were:
John Dolezal earned a Bachelor of Manufacturing Management degree in manufacturing management.
Lauren Ferrara earned a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel, restaurant, and tourism management.
Hellier Gets Degree from UW-River Falls
Sarah Hellier of Eden Prairie received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Journalism in December 2012 at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, according to a news release from the school.
Grover Named to Ithaca Dean's List
Megan Grover of Eden Prairie was on the Dean's List of Ithaca College's School of Health Sciences and Human Performance for the fall 2012 semester, according to a news release from the school. She is a junior and is pursuing a clinical health studies major.
Hamilton and Thomson on Denison University Dean's List
Two Eden Prairie residents were named to the fall semester 2012 Dean's List for Denison University, according to a news release from the school.
They are:
- Claire Hamilton is expected to graduate in 2014.
- Molly Thomson is expected to graduate in 2015.
"Students who achieve dean's list status have maintained a grade point average of 3.7 or better (out of 4.0) for the semester," according to Denison University.
Koller Graduates from Marquette
Kristin Koller of Eden Prairie graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, according to a news release from the school.
VanEyll Graduates from UW-Whitewater, and Makes Dean's List
Robin VanEyll of Eden Prairie graduated magna cum laude Dec. 15 at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, according to a news release from the school.
ValEyll earned a bachelor's degree in general business.
She also made the Dean's List in fall semester 2012, according to the school. "These students have demonstrated their academic abilities by receiving a grade point average of 3.4 or above in a single semester," a news release said.
Furmanski and Hammer on Michigan Tech Dean's List
Two Eden Prairie residents were named to the fall semester 2012 Dean's List at Michigan Technological University.
They are:
- Elyssa Furmanski, who is majoring in biomedical engineering
- Kimberly Hammer, who is majoring in chemical engineering
"To be included, students must achieve grade point averages of 3.5 or higher," according to a news release from the school.
Nine Eden Prairie Residents Named to Creighton Dean's List
Several Eden Prairie students were on the Dean's List for fall semester 2012 at Creighton University, according to a news release from the school.
They are:
- Brooke Jensen, a junior at the College of Arts and Sciences
- Olivia Lickteig, a sophomore at the College of Arts and Sciences
- Sarah McMahon, a sophomore at the College of Nursing
- Molly Meyer, a sophomore at the College of Arts and Sciences
- Nathaniel Rosol, a senior at the College of Arts and Sciences
- Samuel Rosol, a freshman at the College of Arts and Sciences
- Grant Steiner, a senior at the College of Business
- Ethan Wragge, a senior at the College of Business
- Michael Blessing, a sophomore at the College of Business
"Full-time students who earn a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale are eligible for the Dean's Honor Roll," according to Creighton University.
Kempston Graduates from Bethel University
Alexander Kempston, son of David and Lisa Kempston of Eden Prairie, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature and writing, according to a news release from Bethel University.
Bloom and Orne on Olivet Dean's List
Two Eden Prairie residents were on the fall semester 2012 Dean's List at Olivet Nazarene University, according to a news release from the school.
They are:
Garbowicz on University of Nebraska-Lincoln Dean's List
Nicole Lin Garbowicz of Eden Prairie was on the fall semester 2012 Dean's List/Honor Roll at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, according to a news release from the school.
"Garbowicz is a senior nutrition science major in the College of Education and Human Sciences with a 4.0 grade-point average," according to the school.
Students at the College of Education must have a minimum 3.75 grade point average.
Eden Prairie Residents Named to Bethel Dean's List
Several Eden Prairie residents were on the Bethel University Dean's List for fall semester 2012, according to a news release from the school.
They are:
- Alexandra Ashbaugh, freshman and daughter of Thomas and Jan Ashbaugh.
- Breanna Blaschke, senior and daughter of Lynn Vos.
- Lydia Brubaker, sophomore and daughter of Brad and Teresa Brubaker.
- Nathan Brubaker, junior and son of Brad and Teresa Brubaker.
- Rachel Doyle, sophomore and daughter of John and Colleen Doyle.
- Kyle Frost, freshman and son of Jerry and Janet Frost.
- Heather Howison, sophomore and daughter of Bruce and Valerie Howison.
- Kathryn Kennedy, sophomore and daughter of George and Robyn Kennedy.
- Rebecca Leivestad, senior and daughter of Philip and Sharon Leivestad.
- Anna Paulson, senior and daughter of Kent and Lorie Paulson.

"The Dean's List honors students who achieve an outstanding scholastic record during a semester with a grade point average of 3.6 or greater," according to the school.
Hansen and Reyes Graduate from Michigan Tech
Two Eden Prairie residents graduated from Michigan Technological University on Dec. 15, according to a news release from the school.
- Thorvald Hansen earned a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering
- Orlando Reyes earned a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering
Three on University of Kansas Fall Honor Roll
Three Eden Prairie residents were on the fall 2012 Honor Roll at the University of Kansas, according to a news release from the school.
They are:
- Brittany Heaton, junior and daughter of Jeffrey and Therese Heaton of Eden Prairie, was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
- Tess Hoerle, junior and daughter of Michael and Ellen Hoerle of Eden Prairie, was named to the honor roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
- Andrea Kruse, junior and daughter of Mary Jane and Charles Kruse of Eden Prairie, was named to the honor roll for the School of Education.
"Honor roll criteria vary among the university's academic units," according to the school. "Some schools honor the top 10 percent of students enrolled, some establish a minimum grade-point average, and others raise the minimum GPA for each year students are in school. Students must complete a minimum number of credit hours to be considered for the honor roll."
Herzog on Berklee College of Music Dean's List
Grace Herzog of Eden Prairie was on the Dean's List for fall semester 2012 at Berklee College of Music, according to a news release from the school. "To be eligible for this honor, a full-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or above; a part-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or above.
Eden Prairie Residents Received Chancellor's Awards and Scholarships at UW-Stout, Wisconsin's Polytechnic University
Eight Eden Prairie residents received the Chancellor's Award for fall semester 2012 at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Wisconsin's Polytechnic University, according to a news release from the school.
They are:
- Leah Becker is majoring in apparel design and development.
- Meg Floersch is majoring in apparel design and development.
- Erica Alpers is majoring in business administration.
- Molly Crabb is majoring in human development and family studies.
- Murphy Alexander is majoring in industrial design.
- Alexa Bitzer is majoring in pre-art education.
- Jacqueline Head is majoring in pre-art education.
- Brittany Brethorst is majoring in vocational rehabilitation.
"The award is presented to students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or above," according to the school.
Two other students at the school will receive the Chancellors Scholarship when they start attending in fall 2013.
"To qualify, students must be in the top 10 percent of their graduating class, or have a 3.5 GPA for high schools that do not rank with an ACT score of at least 26, or an equivalent SAT score," according to the school.
- Sara Bushland is a student at Eden Prairie High School who plans to major in Special Education.
- Sarah Johnson is a student at Eden Prairie High School who plans to major in Art Education.
They will receive $4,500: $3,000 in their freshman year and $1,500 in their sophomore year.
Critzer and Merrick Graduate from Northwestern
Two Eden Prairie students graduated from Northwestern College on Dec. 21, according to a news release from the school.
They are:
- Lauren Critzer, daughter of Jeffrey and Sharon Critzer, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in intercultural studies
- Alex Merrick, son of Leah Merrick, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in graphic design.
