Niche's 2026 rankings show which private high school is considered the best in Minnesota and how much families pay to attend.

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN — The International School of Minnesota in Eden Prairie is the best private high school in Minnesota, according to Niche’s new 2026 rankings released Monday. The school’s yearly tuition is listed at $27,950, with boarding at $44,250.
The 2026 rankings cover 30,000 private schools and 93,000 public schools nationwide, incorporating both quantitative data and user reviews.
To create the rankings, Niche combines data such as test scores, enrollment, and facility resources with insights from students, parents, and educators. The goal is to help families choose schools where children can succeed academically, thrive socially, and build a strong foundation for their future.

In Minnesota, behind The International School of Minnesota, the top 10 private high schools and their tuition are:
- No. 2 Mounds Park Academy, St. Paul — $38,700
- No. 3 St. Paul Academy and Summit School, St. Paul — $39,420
- No. 4 The Blake School, Hopkins — $40,000
- No. 5 Saint John’s Preparatory School, Collegeville — $19,000 (boarding: $55,000)
- No. 6 Minnehaha Academy, Minneapolis — $30,185
- No. 7 Breck School, Minneapolis — $38,580
- No. 8 Shattuck-St. Mary’s School, Faribault — $42,000 (boarding: $62,000)
- No. 9 Trinity School at River Ridge, Eagan — $16,900
- No. 10 DeLaSalle High School, Minneapolis — $16,995
Nationally, The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut (costing $71,170 a year), secured the No. 1 private high school spot, followed by Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire and Choate Rosemary Hall in Connecticut.
