EDEN PRAIRIE, MN — Chris Rogers, the former principal of Oak Point Elementary in Eden Prairie, was investigated by local police in late 2024 following allegations involving students at the school, according to police records and a news report.

No arrests were made, and prosecutors ultimately declined to file charges.

"In every case, our attorneys must assess whether potential charges are likely to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt to a jury at trial," the county attorney’s office told Eden Prairie Local News.

"If that standard is not cleared, charges will be declined."

After parents shared the police report on social media earlier this month, the district issued a statement emphasizing its commitment to student safety and adherence to mandated procedures.

The investigation began on Nov. 11, 2024, when a caregiver contacted police after two children in her care made concerning statements about a man they referred to as "Dr. Rogers."

The individual named in the report was identified as Chris Rogers, who was serving as principal at the time.

Rogers was placed on leave that same day and has since resigned, though he reportedly remains on the district’s payroll through the end of the 2024–2025 school year.

The children were interviewed at CornerHouse, a Minneapolis-based child advocacy center that specializes in forensic interviews, according to police documents.

On Feb. 4, 2025, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office declined to file charges, citing insufficient evidence.

Following Rogers’s departure, the district named an interim principal. On July 1, 2025, Theresa Marty will take over the role permanently.

Marty brings a decade of experience in South St. Paul Public Schools, where she served as principal and assistant principal of Lincoln Center Elementary, and most recently as Assistant Director of Special Services and Learning. The district praised her “collaborative spirit and thoughtful approach,” saying she is committed to creating a school environment where “every student feels valued, supported and challenged.”
