10 Edina Schools On COVID-19 Outbreak List: MDH
The most recent list included 150 Hennepin County schools, 30 more than the previous list.
EDINA, MN — One Edina school was added last week to the Minnesota Department of Health’s list of facilities with recent outbreaks, pushing the city’s total to 10 schools — the highest it’s been since officials started tracking that data at the start of this academic year.
Highlands Elementary joined nine other Edina schools on the department’s most recent list released Dec. 9.
Agamim Classical Academy, Avail Academy, Our Lady of Grace Catholic School, Concord Elementary, Cornelia Elementary, Creek Valley Elementary, Normandale Elementary, South View Middle School and Edina High School have been on the list for at least a week.

The COVID-19 data dashboard for Edina Public Schools shows there have been 401 total coronavirus cases among students since Aug. 30. The district serves about 8,400 students.
The district has also reported 79 cases among its 1,200 staff members since Aug. 30.

The Minnesota Department of Health's most recent list of facilities with coronavirus outbreaks included 150 Hennepin County schools, 30 more than the previous weekly list. More than 1,000 schools statewide were named on the list Dec. 9.
A school is considered to have an outbreak when it reports five or more confirmed cases of the virus in students or staff who were in the building while infectious during the most recent two-week reporting period.
Schools on the list may not have ongoing transmission, according to MDH officials. Schools are removed from the list after 28 days without any new cases.
