Three seniors have secured National Merit Scholarships valued at $2,500 each, according to a release issued today.
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) released a list of 2,500 Merit Scholar designees on Wednesday, May 2. The winners were chosen from a talent pool of more than 15,000 finalists.
Allen J. Fang, Sophia M. Charan and Ekaterina A. Botchkareva—all seniors at EHS— were awarded $2,500 scholarships from the NMSC's own funds. Fang, of Eden Prairie, plans to study medicine in college. Minneapolis resident Charan lists chemical engineering as a probable career field and Botchkareva, of St. Louis Park, intends to study international relations.
