4 Edina Schools On Coronavirus Outbreak List: MDH
Concord Elementary was added Thursday to the state's coronavirus outbreak list.
EDINA, MN — The number of Edina schools on the Minnesota Department of Health’s list of facilities with recent coronavirus outbreaks climbed to four this week.
Concord Elementary was added to the state’s list Thursday, joining Creek Valley Elementary, Highlands Elementary and South View Middle School, which remained on the most recent list.
The COVID-19 data dashboard for Edina Public Schools shows there have been 118 total coronavirus cases among students in the district this school year, as of Oct. 8. The district serves about 8,400 students.

Thirty have had to quarantine due to close contact in a school setting or school-sponsored activity, the dashboard shows.

There have also been 22 total coronavirus cases this school year among about 1,200 staff members, according to the district’s dashboard.

Seventy-two Hennepin County schools were included on this week’s list, 14 more than last week.
A school is deemed to have an outbreak when it reports five or more confirmed cases of the virus in students or staff who were in the building while infectious during the most recent two-week reporting period.

"School buildings listed may not have ongoing transmission," MDH noted. "School buildings that have not reported a new case for 28 days will be removed. If five or more cases are reported in a school building in a subsequent 2-week period, they will once again be listed."
