Best of 2011: Tackling Edina's Happy Hour Ban
Edina Patch looks back at 2011 by counting down our favorite stories of the year.

One of the stories that generated a substantial amount of conversation early in the year was our two-part look at the city's ban on happy hour.

The city is currently looking into perhaps tweaking the ban, though no formal action has been taken at this piont.
Councilman Josh Sprague said he would support revisiting the regulations, considering Edina's changing demographics:

“You go down to 50th & France and you see a younger, more active crowd and that needs to be taken into consideration when looking at topics like this," Sprague said. “The origin of a lot of the current laws and going back to when there was no alcohol served at all, is pretty puritanical and I think those times are long gone.”
