Braemar Golf Dome Collapses in Flames
The indoor golf facility has been closed indefinitely due to the early morning fire.
An early morning fire at the scorched a hole in the side of the massive facility, causing it to collapse.
City officials report the fire started at around 6:10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10. Crews arrived to find the dome partially deflated, accompanied by a water leak and the smell of gas.
Fire Marshal Tom Jenson said the fire likely started in the northwest corner of the structure, burning a hole in the side of the dome. The fire then spread to the hill behind the dome, but burned itself out before firefighters arrived.

Water and gas lines were dislodged from the clubhouse during the collapse, prompting the city to shut off all utilities to the dome.
The hill was scorched and the entire area surrounding the dome smelled heavily of smoke at noon on Friday. City officials said the dome will remain closed indefinitely.

The cause of the fire and dome collapse remain under investigation, according to officials.
This isn't the first collapse for the golf dome, which also under the weight of heavy snowfall.
