The Fridley Filtration Plant—owned and operated by the City of Minneapolis—is set to get a $40 million upgrade, according to KSTP. The upgrade will spiff up the plant, parts of which are nearly 100 years old, with new filters designed to prevent the familiar "dead fish" smell city water acquires for a few weeks in the spring.
