Community IDs Centennial Lakes Mystery Bird
The frequent visitor to the Edina park was overwhelmingly identified as an egret.

The mystery has been solved.
After I snapped early this week at of a gorgeous white bird—which I could not identify—the emails and comments came flooding in.
It is an egret (perhaps a great one). And apparently it frequents the park.

Ryan,
This egret is a winged friend of ours when we are out sailing our sailboats at the .
Attached is a photo of our long time sailboater club member Fred Ferris having a "stare off" with this bird. I spend many hours sailing my RC sailboat at the Center Pond and watching this bird and all of the ducks. What an incredible park!
The attached photo was taken by one of our members, John Bishop.

A hearty thanks to all of Edina's resident bird experts for helping me learn something new. At least I know where to go when I have a pressing bird identification question.
