Cover Your Plants: Frost Warning Issued for Hennepin County
Widespread freezing temperatures are expected tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

Don't let the relatively warm spring weather lull you into a false sense of security as it relates to your garden, as the National Weather Service is warning temperatures will likely fall below freezing overnight between Monday and Tuesday in the Twin Cities metro area.
Freezing temperatures are highly likely between 1 and 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to the weather service warning. Overnight low temperatures are anticipated to bottom out in the lower to middle 20s.
While freezing temperatures alone dip well below the freezing point, but the low temps will remain below freezing for several hours. The extended cold snap could kill more tender vegetation and fruit trees, which are already budding in some areas.

"A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely," the warning reads. "These conditions will threaten crops and other sensitive vegetation."
