Drivers Should Expect Major Delays on France Avenue

Hennepin County is warning local commuters to expect lengthy delays along France Avenue, with plans to reduce northbound traffic to only one lane.

The lane closures will begin Wednesday, May 2, so long as weather cooperates. Concrete rehabilitation work between Interstate 494 and Highway 62 has already closed France Avenue down to two lanes in both directions, with crews working to repair the joints, or re-pouring entire slabs, of the concrete road.

The new closure means residents should leave plenty of extra time to get to local destinations, including Edina's .

The reduction to one lane of traffic is expected to be in place for one week, with the entire rehabilitation project scheduled for completion this July.
