Edina's Christmas and Christmas Eve Services

Christmas services are the most important part of the holiday for many families. These local churches have you covered with services on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

• Services: 
  • Christmas Eve: Worship service at 5 p.m.
  • Christmas Day: Worship service at 10:30 a.m.

• Location: 6817 Antrim Road
• Services:
  • Christmas Eve: Candlelight worship at 5 p.m.
  • Christmas Day: Worship service at 10:30 a.m., coffee hour with cinnamon rolls at 11:30 a.m.

• Location: 6512 Vernon Ave. S.
• Services: 
  • Christmas Eve: Service begins at 4:15 p.m., with extended prelude music; worship begins at 4:30 p.m.
  • Christmas Day: No service. Prayers, scripture and carol suggestions to use at home will be available to parish members.
• Special Holiday Features: The service includes lessons, carols, communion, a performance of the "Hallelujah Chorus" and is finished with candlelight and "Silent Night."

  • Christmas Eve: Family services with children participating in the telling of the Christmas story at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., traditional service with carols and music at 6 p.m., traditional service with carols, choir and traditional music at 9 p.m. and table service designed for young adults at 11 p.m.
  • Christmas Day: Worship service at 11 a.m.
• Special Holiday Features: Childcare is available for nursery to 2-year-olds at the 11 a.m., 1, 3 and 6 p.m. Christmas Eve services.

• Special Holiday Features: Good Shepherd's Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services will each feature Christmas cookies baked by members of the parish.

  • Christmas Eve: Children's sermon featuring the Cherub Choir at 3 p.m., candlelight service featuring the Boys & Girls Choir at 4:30 p.m., candlelight service featuring the Youth Choir at 9 p.m. and candlelight service with holy communion featuring the Normandale Choir at 11 p.m.
  • Christmas Day: Service of lessons and carols with holy communion at 11 a.m.

• Services: 
  • Christmas Eve: Vigil mass with the children's choir and cantor at 4 p.m., vigil mass with the contemporary vocal ensemble at 6 p.m. and traditional midnight mass with the adult traditional choir at 11 p.m. (Choral Fest takes place at 10:30 p.m.)
  • Christmas Day: Mass with traditional carols at 7:30 a.m., mass with the adult traditional choir at 9:30 a.m. and mass with the contemporary vocal ensemble at 11:30 a.m.
• Special Holiday Features: Our Lady of Grace features carols one half our before all masses, except for the 7:30 a.m. Christmas Day service.

  • Christmas Day: Special combined worship at 10 a.m.
• Special Holiday Features: Selections fromHandel’s Messiah will be performed by the choir, soloists and orchestra 30 minutes prior to both the 8 and 11 p.m. Christmas Eve services. The Christmas morning worship will feature carols for all to sing, vocal music by Clark Duhrkopf and organ and piano music by Bryon Wilson.

  • Christmas Eve: Family service at 5 p.m., candlelight services at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
  • Christmas Day: Service at 9 a.m.
• Special Holiday Features: The family service on Christmas Eve will feature a shortened message, set to last only 30 minutes. The Candlelight services, on the other hand, will include performances from the choir, organ and a full orchestra.
