Edina Intersection Among State's Most Dangerous
The intersection of Highway 62 and France Avenue ranked 14th on MnDOT's list.

The intersection of Highway 62 and France Avenue in Edina is the 14th most dangerous in the state, according to a list released this week.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation based the rankings on a weighted average of crash severity over a three-year period. For instance, a minor property damage accident was weighted as one point, while a traffic fatality garnered 70 points.
Edina's sole entrant on the list saw a grand total of 73 crashes from 2008-2010, of which 46 involved only property damage. MnDOT reports 22 of the total crashes saw minor injuries, four involved moderate injuries and only one was classified as a severe injury. There were no fatal crashes at the intersection during the sample period.
