Edina Patch Week in Review: Feb. 27-March 5

This week's highlights include a sectional title win for the boys hockey team and a visit to the former home of Pearson's Edina Restaurant.

Edina Patch presents a regular review of everything newsworthy that took place in the local community in the last week. The following events occurred during the week of Feb. 27-March 5.

Sunday:

Sunday started off on a bittersweet note, as we recapped the Edina girls hockey team's in the state championship game. We also featured a massive ski and snowboard school's 2011 "Fun Day."

Monday:

Monday morning began with a heavy dose of sports with coverage of both and the . We also had the , a puppy who has been waiting for months to be adopted through Edina-based rescue organization Secondhand Hounds.

Tuesday:

We brought readers to the Edina Art Center, where the created by students from Edina High School. The latest edition of The Hornets' Nest had updates on several state meets, including on balance beam and wrestler James Lettow qualifying for state. Fashion expert Jilene Framke provided some tips for , while this week's Capitol Review took a .

Wednesday:

We took a look at a , wherein the two groups discussed ways to cooperate in the future. Frugal Family had , then Moms Talk had some . Our Grab & Go Kids Planner had a quick glimpse at a , Great Escape filled you in on some nearby and Patch's Tom Carothers . To finish the night off right, we had coverage of the , earning the Hornets a state tournament berth.

Thursday:

Our regular weekly planner clued you in to taking place this weekend. Thursday's had stories from all around the west metro, then we covered the to open the Section 2AAAA Tournament.

Friday:

Several weeks after it opened, Edina Patch stopped in at the at the former home of Pearson's Edina Restaurant. This week's Cake Eater traveled up and down France Avenue with a handful of . Saturday:
