Blood Drive Sees Strong Community Support

The Edina Police Department organized the drive on honor of Sgt. Steve Stroh.

More than 100 volunteers turned out for a blood drive and marrow registry in honor of Edina's own Sgt. Steve Stroh last week, according to Chief Jeff Long.

"I'm happy to say we had 100 blood donors and over 70 marrow registrants," Long said in a release. "A terrific turn out!"

The department organized the , who has been battling Multiple Myeloma. The Edina officer recently returned to work on a part-time basis, only a few months after receiving a bone marrow transplant with cells donated from his brother, John.
