Edina's Slominski Chooses High School Over College Coaching
Laura Slominski is interviewed as part of a NY Times piece on the lack of women coaching college hockey.

The New York Times recently put together a fascinating piece looking at the general lack of women coaching college hockey.
As fate would have it, Edina's own Laura Slominski was one of the central figures in the story. Slominski left her position coaching at the University of Minnesota to teach math and coach the girls hockey team a few years ago.
Slominski told the New York Times she has "never once looked back and regretted my decision."

"I absolutely love what I’m doing. And beyond that, for me and my coaching style, what I have to offer high school kids is more than what I can offer college kids. Just from my personality, it’s probably a better fit in terms of my coaching style, too."
