Edina’s Southdale Center Among ‘Best Of The Twin Cities’ In KQRS Poll

EDINA, MN — Southdale Center in Edina was voted as one of the best malls in 92 KQRS’ “Best of the Twin Cities 2022” poll of its listeners.

Mall of America in Bloomington — the biggest shopping mall in the Western Hemisphere — was unsurprisingly named the best mall in the Twin Cities metro by KQRS listeners.

Southdale Center was a finalist in the “Best Mall” category alongside Rosedale Center in Roseville, Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka and Maplewood Mall.

The four-floor Edina shopping mall boasts almost 1.3 million square feet of retail space and has more than 120 stores and 16 restaurants and eateries, according to Simon Property Group.

Southdale Center was the first indoor shopping center in the U.S. when it opened in 1956.

The city of Edina was voted among the five best suburbs in the Twin Cities metro. Anoka was named the "Best Suburb" in the KQRS poll, while Edina was a finalist alongside St. Louis Park, Woodbury and Andover.
