Edina Schools To Close Early Friday Due To Snowstorm

Forecasters are calling for up to 9 inches of snow Friday in Edina, with Hennepin County under a winter storm watch starting at noon.

EDINA, MN — Students in Edina Public Schools will be dismissed two hours early Friday with the area set to get hit by a massive snowstorm.

That means elementary students will be dismissed around 12:25 p.m. Friday, with Edina High School to let students out and 1:15 p.m. and middle schools to close at 2:05 p.m. All district buildings will close at 4 p.m. Friday, according to officials.

Afternoon classes, day care and extended learning at the Early Learning Center have been canceled for Friday, as well as the district’s community education classes, KIDS club and WISE Guys, and middle school clubs.

District officials have also called off a performance of “Mamma Mia” scheduled for Saturday night at Edina High School and the Valley View orchestra concert.
