Edina Shuts Down Ice Rinks for Season

Unseasonably warm weather prompted staff to close the rinks earlier than usual this year.

The City of Edina has officially closed its ice rinks for the season, largely due to an unseasonably warm winter.

As of Tuesday, Feb. 21, all of the city's warming houses and ice rinks are out of commission.

The lone option for Edinans who aren't yet ready to hang up their skates is Centennial Lakes Park, which has only been temporarily closed. City officials say it could re-open in a few days, should the weather cooperate.
