Edina Teen Earns Trip to National Air Rifle Championship

Edina teen Chase Nordstrom has earned an invitiation to a prestigious shooting competition later this summer.

Nordstrom—a senior at Saint Thomas Academy—will compete in the 22nd American Legion Junior Air Rifle National Championship from Aug. 7-12 at the USA Shooting Facility in Colorado Springs, CO. Nordstrom earned the invitation and an all-expenses-paid trip to the competition by placing in the top 15 nationally in the Sporter division.

"This is a tremendous accomplishment for Chase," said Paul Preblich, adviser of the Rifle Team. "No other Academy cadet has reached this level of competition in my nine years as the team adviser. He has worked hard and will represent himself and the Academy well against the elite shooters from across the country."
