How Much Snow Did Edina Get This Week?
It wasn't the 10 inches some expected, but Edina still received plenty of snow.

It admittedly wasn't the "Snowmageddon" many were forecasting, but Edina still received a healthy dose of snow during this week's winter storm.
According to data from the National Weather Service, Edina received 1.8 inches of snow on Monday, Mar. 4. That wouldn't have been so bad, except an additional 7.2 inches was reportedly dumped on Edina during Tuesday, Mar. 5. That's a grand total of 9 inches of snow within a 48-hour period.
Still, it was right in line with several of our west metro neighbors. A trained spotter in Richfield reported 8.5 inches to the east of us, while our western neighbors in Eden Prairie reportedly received 9.8 inches of snow by the end of the storm.

Unfortunately for Edina Public Schools students, those 9 inches of snow weren't enough to warrant a day off of school. Edina was on a two-hour delay Tuesday, while crews worked to clear city streets of the bounty of snow.
Further out, Inver Grove Heights recorded the heaviest snowfall at 10.10 inches, while Lakeville was close behind at 10 inches. Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport received 9.3 inches.
