We'll kick things off at 7 p.m., with the puck slated to drop around 8 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 8, at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Editors and will provide commentary throughout the big game, coupled with insight into the seasons of the two teams. Benilde and Edina didn't play each other this season, though the Hornets defeated the Red Knights 5-4 in a Jan. 2011 meeting.
Edina finished the 2011-12 season with a 23-5-0 record, while the Red Knights played their way to a 22-6-0 record.

This is Edina's 23rd appearance in the state tournament—they've won 11 state titles—and the fourth tournament berth for BSM. The Red Knights last won a state title in 2001, when they played in Class A hockey.
The other Class AA matchups are as follows:
- No. 3-ranked Maple Grove (24-2-2) received the No. 2 seed and will play No. 9-ranked Hill-Murray (22-6-0) at 11 a.m. in the first of the four quarterfinals.
- No. 5-ranked Eagan (24-3-1) received the No. 3 seed and will play No.-10 ranked Moorhead (21-6-0) at 1 p.m.
- No. 1-ranked Duluth East (27-1-0) received the No. 1 seed and will play No. 10-ranked Lakeville South (20-8-0) on Thursday at 6 p.m.
