Man Robs Edina Bank with Lunch Box
Edina police are working in conjunction with local and federal officials to find the man responsible for the Monday morning robbery.

Local and federal officials are on the hunt for a man they say robbed an Edina bank with a lunch box he said contained a bomb.
At around 10 a.m. on Monday, April 11, the robber entered the located at 3905 W. 69th St. armed with only a lunch box. The man reportedly approached a teller, placed the insulated lunch box on the counter and claimed there was a bomb inside.
The robber demanded an undisclosed amount of money and, upon receiving the cash, opened the lunch box and placed it inside. The teller later told police the lunch box appeared to contain some brown paper and a wall switch. The FBI could not confirm there was an actual bomb inside.

The robber walked out of the bank with lunch box in tow and entered a white, four-door KIA Spectra, which he drove away from the bank in an unknown direction. The is working alongside Hennepin County Sheriff's Deputies and FBI agents to investigate the incident. The man is not believed to have been responsible for any other bank robberies in the area.
Officials describe the robber as a white male in his 20s or 30s, about six feet tall and 185 pounds. He was wearing a green jacket with a logo on the left breast, dark pants and shoes, a wool cap and scarf and multi-colored sunglasses.

FBI Special Agent Steve Warfield said robbery by lunch box is "somewhat uncommon."
