Neighbor Reports Chimney Fire, Crews Find Barbecue
The Edina Fire Department's weekly activity report for Jan. 30-Feb. 5.

The responded to the following incidents during the week of Jan. 30-Feb. 5:
Monday, Jan. 30
- Paramedic firefighters responded to 15 incidents requiring emergency medical service.
- A carbon monoxide alarm was checked in the 6700 block of Galway Drive. The home was checked, but no levels of gases were found. The alarm was believed to be malfunctioning. The gas company was en route and will also check the house.
- Two false fire alarms were investigated.

- There were 11 emergency medical service calls.
- Firefighters investigated two false fire alarms.
Wednesday, Feb. 1
- Edina firefighters were called to assist Eden Prairie Fire Department in extinguishing a house fire in the 6600 block of Golden Ridge Drive.
- Sixteen incidents required emergency medical service.
- Three false fire alarms were reported.
Thursday, Feb. 2

- There were eight emergency medical service responses.
- One false fire alarm was received.
Friday, Feb. 3
- Paramedic firefighters responded to 10 emergency medical service calls.
- There were three false fire alarms.
Saturday, Feb. 4
- Nine emergency medical service responses were performed by paramedic firefighters.
- A neighbor reported seeing smoke coming from a house. Firefighters arrived and found that steam from a dryer vent was mistaken for smoke.
- One false fire alarm was reported.
Sunday, Feb. 5
- There were four emergency medical service incidents.
- A carbon monoxide alarm malfunction was checked in the 6400 block of Stauder Circle.
- A passerby reported lots of smoke and a possible chimney fire in the 5100 block of Danens Drive. Firefighters arrived and found that the smoke was from a barbecue grill.
- A reported car fire was cancelled en route by Edina Police, who arrived on the scene of a disabled vehicle on Hwy. 169.
- One false fire alarm was cancelled en route.
