• New cross-country ski trails open in Edina's Braemar Park (hometownsource.com) — Edina residents can now enjoy freshly groomed classic and skate ski trails atop Braemar Golf Course, funded by the voter-approved half-cent sales tax for park improvements. The free two-mile loop, accessed from the driving range area, is already popular, though snowshoeing is prohibited on the ski tracks and grooming happens only after key plowing and safety work is done.

• Macy's Closing 14 More Stores, Including One In Minnesota (b105country.com) — Edina shoppers still have a Macy’s for now, but the chain is closing another Minnesota store as it continues to downsize nationwide. A St. Cloud location will shut its doors, leaving six Macy’s in the state, including remaining sites in Edina, Roseville, Minnetonka, Rochester, and Mall of America.
• Islanders get to 'be little kids again' bonding at Anders Lee's house (newsday.com) — New York Islanders players recently spent an off day playing pond hockey at captain Anders Lee’s offseason home in Edina turning a long road trip into a chance to relax and reconnect. The informal 17-on-17 game on Lee’s backyard pond, complete with bonfire and old junior jerseys, left players and coaches feeling more energized and unified heading into their next matchup.
