(PHOTOS) Girls Lacrosse Wins Big Over Wayzata

The Hornets trounced the Trojans 20-9 on Tuesday, April 24.

Following a 20-9 win over the Wayzata Trojans on Tuesday, April 24, the girls lacrosse team improved to 4-1 on the season.

Sophomore forward Sheila Hirsch led the Hornets with five goals and four assists, just ahead of junior Madeline Rodriguez with four goals and two assists. Laura Baker, Brianna Bellows and Natalie Rauchle each scored two goals; Rauchle also had two assists.

Rounding out the scoring for Edina, Jane Thotland, Jordie Schnell, Lauren Brinkman, Morgan Marinovich and Catherine MacLennan each scored one goal.

Junior goalie Dana Stasieluk played all but the last 10 minutes of regulation, when 9th grader Tara Basting got a chance to get in front of the net.

The Hornets travel to Minnetonka to face the Skippers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 26.
