(PHOTOS) Hornets Defeated by Minnetonka Laxers

The Skippers welcomed the visiting Edina boys lacrosse team with a 10-5 loss.

The boys lacrosse team suffered its fourth loss of the season against Lake Conference rival Minnetonka on Thursday, April 26, at Minnetonka High School.

The game was largely even throughout the first three quarters, with the Skippers up 6-5 heading into the fourth. The Skippers turned the heat up in the final quarter of regulation play, holding the Hornets to no points and scoring four more goals in the process.

Following the 10-5 loss to Minntonka, the Hornets are now 1-4 on the season and 1-3 in the Lake Conference.

Junior Derek Todd led the Hornets with two goals and two assists against the Skippers. Will Farmer, Brian Baker and Danny Regan each scored one goal. Chris Johnson and Danny Burke had one assist apiece during the game.

Goalie Austin Dover made 23 saves in the contest, out of 33 total shots on goal. Junior Willy Dugan won nine of his 18 faceoffs during the game.

UP NEXT

The Hornets travel to Hopkins to face the Royals (3-5) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1. Edina won 11-6 the last time the two teams met this season.
