(PHOTOS) Hornets Snap Eagles' Undefeated Streak
Late-game heroics helped Edina defeat the 7-0 Eden Prairie Eagles.
On paper, the Eden Prairie Eagles looked to be the clear favorites in a matchup against the baseball team on Wednesday, April 25. Clearly, statistics aren't everything.
Trailing 7-5 heading into the sixth inning, it was looking like the Hornets might be in trouble against an undefeated—they were 7-0 heading into the contest—Eden Prairie team.
Some late-game heroics on the part of the Hornets helped turn the tables, however, with Edina scoring five runs in the final two innings to clinch the win. The Hornets upset the Eagles by squeaking out a 10-9 victory at .

Junior Matt Hopfner had three hits—on a triple—with four runs and two RBIs. Will Vanderbilt and Nick Omodt both scored two runs in the game. Senior Nick Leer hit one double, scored one run and finished with two RBIs. Sophomore Steven Kalina scored one run.
Junior Michael Grove had four at bats in the game, but only connected with the ball once. That was all he needed, because with one hit Grove brought in a total of three RBIs.

Their second consecutive win moves Edina to a 4-3 season record. It also puts the Hornets closer to the top of the Lake Conference standings, one game behind Eden Prairie at 2-1.
