Sorbet From Edina Ice Cream Shop Gets High Praise
Sweet Science Ice Cream's dragon fruit lemonade sorbet recently got a shoutout from a Star Tribune food writer.

EDINA, MN — A unique flavor of sorbet at an Edina ice cream shop scored high marks last week from a local food writer.
Star Tribune writer Sharyn Jackson detailed her recent experience at Sweet Science Ice Cream, where she tried the dragon fruit lemonade sorbet. It’s one of four seasonal flavors available at the shop in February, she wrote.

Founder and chef Ashlee Olds said she had always wanted to make a pink-lemonade sorbet but couldn’t get the right color until she found red dragon fruit, Jackson wrote in the Star Tribune's article, "The 5 best things our food writers ate in the Twin Cities area this week."
“Dragon fruit has a gentle flavor — something vaguely floral and also pear-like,” Jackson wrote. “Lemon juice brings a little tartness, just enough for a midwinter wakeup call.”

Olds wrote on Sweet Science Ice Cream’s website that “dreaming up imaginative flavors that reflect my passion for ice cream” is always her goal.
“Every batch is a delicious, all-natural labor of love, and we want you to share that experience with those around you,” Olds wrote.
Sweet Science Ice Cream, 3919 Market St., is open from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, and from 1-8 p.m. Sunday. The shop opened in Edina’s Nolan Mains complex last year.
