Suspected Serial Burglar Arrested in Eden Prairie
Stewart Pesheck was apprehended by police while allegedly committing a burglary.
The man believed responsible for a number of has been apprehended, according to police.
Edina Police Chief Jeff Long said he was "happy to report" the arrest of Stewart Pesheck, 43, of Richfield. Eden Prairie police—working in conjunction with Edina detectives and several other police departments—had been observing Pesheck when they allegedly caught him in the act of burglarizing a home on Monday, Feb. 6. He was arrested for second-degree burglary.
Pesheck allegedly stole a flat-screen television, laptops and an assortment of jewelry from the Eden Prairie home, according to a criminal complaint. Officers report finding a pry bar, wire cutters, needle nose pliers and three pairs of cloth gloves in Pesheck's red Mercury Mountaineer.

Long reports Edina Police are working to connect Pesheck with burglaries in several cities throughout the metro, including incidents committed in the west side of Edina, and Edina investigators are working with other agencies to build a case. Peschek is being held in Hennepin County Adult Detention on $250,000 bail.
"While we are all very pleased that his crime spree is over, we want to remind everyone that Pesheck is not the only burglar out there, and we have had other residential burglaries in the past few months that are not attributable to him," Long wrote in a release.

have been looking for the person responsible for a string of burglaries in the city since April 2011. The serial burglar stole more than $100,000 in jewelry from several Edina homes and was known for his tendency to sever phone lines in an attempt to disable alarm systems.
The same person is believed to have been responsible for at least seven residential burglaries in Edina, plus numerous others in neighboring communities.
