(VIDEO) Edina Tweaks Captain's Practice, Previews Website

Athletic Director John Soma shares an update from the first Coach's Council meeting.

Edina Athletic Director John Soma shared an update on his first-ever Coach's Council meeting, touching on topics ranging from website updates to multiple-sport athletes.

Soma said captain's practices—teams getting together outside of the regular season—will undergo some changes, requiring team captains to organize the contest through the district and athletes to sign a waiver.

An update to the district's website means a retooled athletic department site, Soma said. He expects the site to go live within the next week or so.

Multiple-sport athletes were also up for discussion during the meeting, referring more to athletes who want to play multiple sports in the same season rather than several throughout the year. Should the situation occur in the future, Soma said coaches from the impacted teams will sit down with him to plan out a schedule for the athlete throughout the season.

Soma said the Coach's Council will next meet on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
