This Saturday, the official first day of winter, Edina Mayor Jim Hovland will celebrate by walking around Southdale Center with his constituents. The two-mile, hour-long walk is intended to promote a healthier lifestyle for Edina residents. Residents interested in walking with the mayor and talking about plans for redevelopment and other current events in Edina should meet at 9 a.m. Dec. 21 at the Caribou Coffee inside Southdale Center, 5195 Southdale Circle. He'll also be leading walks around Southdale on Jan. 18, February 15 and March 15.
