Willson Road Closed for Construction

The stretch of Willson Road between Eden Avenue and Golf Terrace—the western boundary of the Edina Country Club—will be closed through 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11.

Jeff Frahm, construction manager with the City of Edina, sent out a letter to area residents and businesses stating the roadway would be closed to through traffic due to a watermain piping project. Willson Road becomes Normandale Road as it heads further south.

Frahm said the city understands the area is typically heavy in traffic, noting the work was scheduled as much as possible to avoid distruptions to traffic. He also encouraged parents to keep their kids away from the site, as it could present a safety concern.

"Measures will also be taken to make the site as safe as possible, but please remind children to stay away from construction sites, construction machinery, and stockpiled materials," Frahm wrote. "These sites, machines, and materials can be dangerous."
