UPDATE: Winter Storm Brings Snow, Freezing Rain to Region
A wintry mix hit the Twin Cities overnight, bringing with it multiple forms of precipitation.
It might not be the two feet of snow some forecasters were anticipating as recently as this weekend, but Edina was hit with one of the more substantial winter storms of the season Tuesday night.
Given the winter we've had, that's not saying much.
The National Weather Service's Twin Cities office has yet to report snowfall totals for Edina, though it likely received 2-4 inches during the storm. Neighboring Eden Prairie reported 3.9 inches of accumulation, while Minneapolis received an estimated 2 inches.

As a result of poor driving conditions, Edina Public Schools issued a two-hour delay for all buildings and cancelled morning kindergarten.
classes, preschool and child care were bumped back to 11 a.m., while all morning Adult Enrichment classes at the and have been cancelled. Afternoon classes are expected to go on as planned.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. today, Feb. 29. Sleet and rain changed over to all snow early this morning, which is expected to last into the afternoon. The NWS predicts another 2-4 inches of new snow—higher amounts to the north, lesser amounts to the south—could hit the metro before the day is through.
Additional flurries could hit later in the week, though no major accumulation is anticipated.
