1 Arrested After Deadly 2-Car Crash In Fridley

A driver was arrested following a fatal two-car crash in Fridley on Monday, though authorities have not yet disclosed the possible charges.

FRIDLEY, MN — A driver was arrested following a fatal two-car crash in Fridley on Monday, though authorities have not yet disclosed the possible charges.

The crash occurred on Jan. 20 shortly before 11 a.m. near the 6600 block of East River Road Northeast, according to officials.

Responding agencies included the Fridley Police Department, Spring Lake Park Police Department, Fridley Fire Department, and Allina EMS.

Preliminary reports indicate that an SUV, driven by an adult male, was traveling southbound on East River Road Northeast when it collided with a sedan moving in the same direction. Both vehicles left the roadway as a result of the crash.

The sedan’s driver, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV’s driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.

After receiving medical care, he was arrested and booked into the Anoka County Jail. Formal charges are pending.

The incident remains under investigation by the Fridley Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
