2 Killed In Broad Daylight Outside Strip Mall: Brooklyn Center Police

BROOKLYN CENTER, MN — Two people were shot and killed in broad daylight Monday outside a strip mall in Brookyln Center, according to police.

Officers responded around 11:40 a.m. to gunshots in the area of Shingle Creek Crossing, where they found one person in a vehicle and another outside of it, both of whom had gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Authorities recovered a handgun from the area, according to police, who said the investigation was ongoing.

The incident did not appear random, no arrests were made and police were not looking for anyone as of Monday afternoon, authorities said.

Located in the area of North Xerxes Avenue and Bass Lake Road, Shingle Creek Crossing includes a Walmart, a T.J. Maxx and other retailers.
