Students read about Minnesota fish and did a series of water quality experiments in science class to prepare for the angling.

March 10, 2022

The love of nature is catching on with Gatewood scholars! On Tuesday, fourth graders got out on Bryant Lake for some ice fishing! Parent volunteers helped cut, string, and bait the students’ fishing poles that they designed and decorated in art class. Students read about Minnesota fish and did a series of water quality experiments in science class to prepare for the angling. It’s this type of holistic lesson that continues to peak student curiosity outside of the classroom, and gets them wondering what’s under the surface of their own backyards!
