Six Elected to Simley Hall of Fame Class of 2024

Inductees will be recognized Friday, September 13, during halftime of the Simley football game that starts at 7 p.m.

The Simley High School Hall of Fame exists to honor individuals who have distinguished themselves in the areas of academic, artistic, athletic, and/or humanitarian achievement. The Hall of Fame also serves as a way to preserve history, build a sense of community, and connect the past with the present.

The newest additions to the Simley Hall of Fame – a six-member group that makes up the Simley High School Hall of Fame Class of 2024 - will be recognized at halftime of the Simley football game Friday, September 13.

The six-member Simley Hall of Fame class of 2024 includes Pete Auge (1992), Glenda (Boyd) Prom (1988), Dr. Abigail (Abby) Larson (1997),Mark Madigan (staff), Kristin Trebor-MacConnell Libardoni (1999), and Matthew James Sivertson (2014).

About the class of 2024:

Pete Auge was a standout football, basketball, and baseball player at Simley. He was a two-time All Conference, two-time All Region, and two-time All Metro pitcher who was also named All State as a senior. Auge won 16 games with an ERA of 1.63 in his final two seasons of high school baseball. He also played in the Lyons All Star game featuring the state's top seniors. He played a key role in Simley winning the 1991 St. Paul Suburban Conference baseball championship. In football Auge was an All-Conference defensive back for the Spartans football team, leading the conference in interceptions his senior year. In basketball he finished 8th in the conference in scoring his senior year, averaging 12 points per game. He led the team in scoring, assists, and steals, was named Team MVP and All Conference Honorbale Mention. He later played baseball at Winona State.

Glenda Boyd Prom excelled in academics, band, volleyball, and basketball at Simley. She graduated in the top 10 of her class and then went on to excel at Hamline University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, set numerous school records in volleyball, and was a two-time All-MIAC volleyball player for the Pipers. Boyd Prom was also inducted into the Hamline University Hall of Fame in 1993.

Dr. Abigail (Abby) Larson is Simley's only Olympian. A four-time All-American in cross country skiing for Northern Michigan University, as well as an All-American cross country runner, Larson won the U.S. Cross Country Skiing National Championship in 2005 and represented the United States at the Olympics in 2006. She then earned her doctorate and is now a professor at Southern Utah University, where she has authored two sport nutrition books and served as an editor for three other health and wellness books.

Mark Madigan was a teacher and coach in District 199 for 45+ years. An Inver Grove Heights Middle School teacher, Madigan was an assistant coach on 18 state championship teams at Simley - 17 in wrestling, and one in football. Madigan was also a part of over 1,000 wins as an assistant coach at Simley and made a lasting impact on student-athletes in IGH for over four decades.

Matthew James Sivertson excelled in choir and band and was active in theatre, cross country, and nordic skiing at Simley. Since then, Sivertson's music career has skyrocketed, and he has excelled as a singer, song writer, producer, music director, music educator, and performer. His single Show Me Your Love reached #11 on the Commercial Pop Charts, and he has collaborated with some of the top stars and performers in the music and entertainment industry, including Mary J. Blige, John Mellencamp, Rihanna, NE-YO, Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart, and many more. He served as producer, director, and executor of the song Right Now, which was inspired by the rising number of suicide cases, especially among LGBTQ+ youth, raising $80,000 that was donated to support LGBTQ+ communities and organizations in the Los Angeles area. Sivertson also enlisted in the US Army Reserves and studied composition and performance at the Army School of Music, taught Songwriting 101 at Loyola Maramount University, and as a resident pianist at Paoli's Piano Bar, delivered over 340 performances in 2023.

Kristin Trebor-MacConnell (KTM) Libardoni was a standout member of the Simley swimming and diving team from 1995-1998, earning numerous conference, section, state, and academic accolades, including individual state medals in 1997 and 1998 in the 1-meter diving event, receiving All-State honors both years. She still holds Simley High School records in the 6 and 11 dives to this day. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Physiology and earned her Master of Athletic Administration from Concordia University in 2017. Libardoni coached the Simley diving team from 1999 to 2003, where she earned Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2001, 2002, and 2003. From 2013-2023 she served as the competitive diving coach and aquatics director at Northside Independent School District in San Antonio, TX, where she coached 32 state finalists, six All-Americans and four state medalists. Libardoni also worked as the Vice President of Events and Community Programs for San Antonio Sports, a non-profit organization that's mission is to transform community through the power of sport, and recently started a new job as Athletics Director, Aquatics, for Southwest ISD in San Antonio, Texas.
