Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Georgia Blando was homeschooled in kindergarten through eighth grade, but then enrolled in the first freshman class at Unity Catholic High School in Burnsville. She is well-rounded and has strong academic and leadership skills. She shows initiative, integrity, and optimism to others and does a wealth of community service projects including crisis pregnancy centers.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Interested in becoming a child psychologist, Blando will attend the University of Notre Dame in Indiana to study psychology. She also wants to explore a path to teaching, perhaps through mission trips to other countries where she could teach English or other subjects. She takes ballet and other forms of dance at Youth Dance Ensemble and has acted and danced at Stages Theatre and Theater Latté Da. She was also involved with various clubs during her high school year including ultimate frisbee, swing dance, and literary society.

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Georgia Blando!
