Accio, Harry Potter Facts: Lakeville Patch Offers Some Fun Facts, Figures and Potter World Tidbits
To celebrate tonight's release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," Lakeville Patch scrounged up some fun facts, figures and author provided tidbits about Harry Potter the franchise, and world.

If only us Muggles really could do magic, right?
I imagine a fair number of people would have shouted, "Accio Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," months ago.
Many casual and intense fans, , were done waiting for the final movie about 30 seconds into part one's credits.

But alas, tonight is the night the wonderful ride comes to and end. The final movie—and for that matter, the final installment of J.K. Rowling's amazing Wizarding World, makes its debut. Once this movie is a wrap, life will forever change for Harry Potter fans that have always been looking forward to what's next.

1) The film franchise nearly lost its Hermione
According to an interview Emma Watson (the actress who plays Hermione Granger) gave to MTV News in 2006, she nearly left the franchise. In the report, she said Warner Bros. nearly had to find another actress because filming for The Order of the Phoenix would have conflicted with Watson's final high school exams, which would have meant putting off college.
"I just wasn't prepared to let (school) go," she said in the interview.
Of course, Warner Bros. rescheduled the shoot around Watson's school schedule, she finished her tests, and the movie, and she went off to college.
2) Harry Potter was nearly an animated movie series
Way back before Harry Potter became a worldwide phenomenon, Steven Spielberg was originally approached by Warner Bros. to create the movie universe, according to a report int he LA Times from 2010.
The report says Spielberg was interested, but wanted to make the movies as "Pixar-style animated features."
But Warner Bros. President Alan Horn declined, favoring live action, the report said.
3) The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is already breaking records
As of yesterday, July 13, Deathly Hallows: Part 2 had already conjured more than $32 million in advance ticket sales—a new pre-opening record, according to Fandango.
Beyond that, Fandango reported the movie has sold more tickets for the 3D version than for any other movie this year, including pre-release and post-release ticket sales for The Hangover Part II, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, and Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
4) The movie is changing the social media landscape in the run-up to its release
Nearly 29 million users have “liked” the Harry Potter Facebook Page, with a big chunk of those users “liking” in just the past week, according to a report by Mashable, saying the Facebook Page gained nearly 100,000 new fans per day the past week.
Don't forget Twitter. The @HarryPotterFilm account might not have the same following as Facebook—only 343,000 followers as of today—but you can get links, interviews and photos you can see anywhere else.

5) Neville Longbottom marries, Rowling says
In a 2007 engagement at Carnegie Hall, Potter author J.K. Rowling said Neville Longbottom marries Hannah Abbott.
"To make him extra cool he marries the woman who becomes, eventually, the new landlady at The Leaky Cauldron, which I think would make him very cool among the students, that he lives above the pub. He marries Hannah Abbott," she said, according to the interview transcript.
6) Rowling says Harry and Ron both become Aurors
In an interview with NBC in 2010, Rowling said "Harry, along with Ron, is working at the Auror Department at the Ministry of Magic."
Meanwhile, Hermione is "pretty high up" in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Rowling said, after years of helping creatures, such as house elves, receive rights.
7) Before joining Harry as an Auror, Ron works at the joke shop
In the same interview with NBC where Rowling gushed about the post-epilogue futures of some of Harry Potter's most well known characters, she said after the final battle, Ron joined his brother George as a partner at his joke shop.
"George named his first child and son Fred, and he goes on to have a very successful career, helped by Ron," she said.
8) Delores Umbridge finally heads to Azkaban
While Lord Voldemort is the fantastic villain, Dolores Umbridge might be the most reviled character in both the books and movies.
In an NBC interview, Rowling said Umbridge was arrested, interrogated and imprisoned for crimes against Muggleborns, and is currently imprisoned at Azkaban.
9) Ginny goes on to make a name for herself
In an interview with MSNBC, Rowling says that Ginny Weasley, stuck with her athletic career, playing for the Holyhead Harpies, the all-female Quidditch team.
Eventually, Ginny left the team to raise her and Harry's three children—James, Albus and Lily—while writing as the senior Quidditch correspondent for the wizarding newspaper, the Daily Prophet.
10) Rowling is open to writing new Harry Potter books
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2010, said she could write more Harry Potter books.
"I'm not going to say I won't" write another Potter story, she said.
She told Oprah that the characters are alive in her head and she has plenty left she could write about.
But that optimisim for more should be tempered.
“I don’t think I will … I feel I am done, but you never know," she said.
In the meantime, she told Oprah that she will wants to try other writing.
