Board Pleased: $7,000 Bonus For Lakeville Schools' Superintendent

Superintendent Dr. Lisa Snyder's performance review for the 2011-12 school year was a good one.

Editor's note: This story originally stated Superintendent Dr. Lisa Snyder was given a $7,000 raise as compensation for her performance review. That's incorrect. The $7,000 given to her was a bonus, not a salary increase. Patch regrests the error.

Superintendent Dr. Lisa Snyder was given a glowing review by the Lakeville School Board earlier this month. As a result of the good evaluation, the district announced Snyder would received $7,000 in performance compensation—a bonus of sorts. Snyder's base salary is $163,700.

According to a press release from the district, Snyder presented an effective and purposeful entry plan to the School Board to guide her work with Lakeville Schools. The Board then established goals and expectations based on this entry plan.

"The Board is very pleased with Snyder's performance. She outlined an aggressive plan and worked diligently to accomplish our district goals—in many instances, exceeding expectations," the press release said.

The release goes on to say:

Snyder demonstrated a high level of energy and performance in her first ten months as Superintendent of Lakeville Area Public Schools. She believes in the potential of all students and is driven to build a "world class" school district that is focused on helping all students to exceed their potential. Under challenging conditions, Dr. Snyder has introduced a new energy to the district that has led to a renewed sense of optimism.

The effectiveness and success of Dr. Snyder's role is based on understanding and meeting the needs of all stakeholders. The overarching goal of her entry plan was to listen, learn, and develop a strategic plan and shared direction for the Lakeville Area Public School District focused on data driven results. The strategic direction developed under the visionary and inspirational leadership of Dr. Snyder will serve the Lakeville Area Public Schools for many years to come since it is based on continuous improvement and performance excellence. Dr. Snyder has established systems to identify and benchmark the district's performance. The district now has the ability to measure and monitor progress in many disciplines based on data.
