FBI Report: Lakeville's Crime Stats Lowest Among Peer Cities in State
The FBI released the 2011 crime stats from across the country.

Last month, the FBI released 2011 crime statistics for reporting communities across America, including Lakeville.
All told, Lakeville police reported zero violent crimes in 2011. (See table below.) There were three robberies, 15 aggrevated assaults, and 108 burglaries. That said, in each category, Lakeville saw fewer incidents than every similarly sized citie in the state, such as Apple Valley, Blaine, Burnsville, Coon Rapids, Eagan, Eden Prairie, Maple Grove, Minnetonka, Plymouth and Woodbury.
Nationwide, the estimated number of violent crimes reported in 2011—1,203,564—was down form 2010, the fifth such year of reduced violent crimes across America. The estimated number of property crimes reported to law enforcement—9,063,173—decreased for the ninth straight year, according to the FBI.
