1. District 194 teachers union selects 2025 EML Educators of Excellence (hometownsource.com) — Two Lakeville educators, Erin Mulvany-Mankowski and Hilary Moorlach, have been named Education Minnesota–Lakeville’s 2025 Educators of Excellence and are now eligible for the 2026 Minnesota Teacher of the Year. Both are praised for innovative teaching, creative use of technology, and unwavering focus on student success across Lakeville Pathways Academy and Cherry View Elementary.
   

2. District 194 sets bond referendum for May 2026 (hometownsource.com) — Lakeville Area School District voters will decide on May 12, 2026, whether to approve a $139.6 million bond to expand and renovate Century, McGuire, and Kenwood Trail middle schools to handle rapid enrollment growth. If passed, the measure would add about $14 per month in property taxes for a $500,000 home for 20 years and allow construction to begin in 2027.
   

3. Waubay resident shares story of sobriety journey (reporterandfarmer.com) — A woman who grew up in Lakeville reflects on her long struggle with alcoholism and the support systems that helped her achieve sobriety in 2021. Now living in Waubay and enrolled with the Muckleshoot tribe in Washington, she shares how community, faith, and persistence helped her break a family cycle of addiction. Her story may resonate with Lakeville residents facing similar challenges.
   

4. Lumberjacks visit Tri-County Storm, shut out in both games (shorelinemedia.net) — A Lakeville native, Ashton Dahms, scored all three goals in Tri-City Storm’s second straight shutout win over the Muskegon Lumberjacks, capping a dominant weekend in Kearney, Nebraska. The back-to-back 4-0 and 3-0 victories featured strong goaltending and key rebound goals cleaned up at the net front.
