Lakeville Man Facing Felony Drug Charges

Authorities say they seized 6.5 pounds of marijuana from Timothy Michael Jennings' home.

A Lakeville man has been charged with felony drug possession after authorities say he accepted six packages from the U.S. Postal Service containing more than 6.5 pounds of marijuana.

Timothy Michael Jennings, 20, is charged with fifth-degree drug possession, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaint, a postal inspector told members of the Dakota County Drug Task Force on May 12 that she had executed a narcotics search warrant on six packages sent through the U.S. mail and had recovered and seized 3,902 grams of marijuana.

The packages were addressed to “Tom Jennings” at a Lakeville address, the complaint says. Jennings signed for and accepted the packages and went back inside the house, at which point drug task force agents and the inspector knocked on the door, according to the complaint.

Jennings answered the door, and the search warrant was executed. During their search, agents found five of the boxes, which contained 2,951 grams of marijuana, along with a “large amount” of U.S. currency, according to the complaint.
