Lakeville Man Wanted on Domestic Assault Charges

Police have been unable to locate the man after the incident, which occurred in Burnsville.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Lakeville man charged with punching his girlfriend while the two returned to Burnsville after spending time at a bar.

Cody Joe Aleman, 28, is charged with two counts of felony domestic assault in relation to the incident.

Burnsville police responded to a home on Sept. 26 upon receiving a report of domestic assault, according to the complaint. The victim told police that Aleman became angry with her after the two left a bar and were returning to Burnsville.

She said that Aleman slapped and punched her in the vehicle and continued to do so after they arrived at her home. He also threw items at her as she tried to protect herself in her bedroom.

When Aleman exited the bedroom, she left her home to stay with a relative and on her mother's request, report the assault to police, according to the complaint.

Police searched the home, but did not find Aleman. They took photographs of the disorganized bedroom and of the victim's injuries.

Aleman faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted on one count.
