Lakeville Shooting Leaves 2 Hurt Near Elementary School

LAKEVILLE, MN — Lakeville police are investigating after two people were injured in a shooting near an elementary school overnight Sunday.

On Oct. 6 at about 2:45 a.m., the Lakeville Police Department responded to a report of gunshots around Foliage Avenue and Gerdine Path.

The initial investigation indicates a shooting occurred in the 16200 block of Florida Way, by Parkview Elementary.

Two people were dropped off at an area hospital with gunshot wounds "and are believed to be related to the incident," police said. They are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are interviewing several possible suspects and witnesses. There is no ongoing public safety concern, police said.
