South still delivered standout victories in key events and diving, while both varsity and JV athletes posted numerous lifetime bests, giving Lakeville families plenty to cheer about.

• Woman shot in Dakota County home on 26th birthday was mom of 2 young kids (twincities.com) — A 26-year-old mother of two was fatally shot on Christmas Eve in a rural Dakota County home, where authorities say they’re investigating her boyfriend for murder and an apparent attempted suicide. The victim once worked for eight years as a well-loved waitress at Lakeville’s Buckboard Restaurant, and friends are organizing fundraisers to support her children and funeral costs.
