The couple told Fox 9 News that Begalke had always wanted to go ice skating at New York City's Rockafeller Plaza, and Foote figured that would be the site for a wonderful, one-of-a-kind proposal.
So Foote coordinated with Match.com—the website that brought the couple together—to get a company to film the proposal.

What evolved was a well choreographed engagement and video. The couple was on the ice with scores of people, but after an announcement for everyone to leave the ice, it was just Foote, Begalke and a camera man left.
On the video, you can see Begalke didn't realize what was happening until she and Foote reached the middle of the rink.
"I had always said, 'I don't want this to be a big thing,' 'I don't want people to watching,' but it was perfect," Begalke told Fox 9 News. "I think it was exactly how I would have wanted it."
